Educational Courses
Dr. Franklin’s Don’t Hate Your Guts courses are designed for people who suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), cyclic vomiting, chronic constipation, functional dyspepsia, or some other kind of Disorder of Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBI). Listen or watch to learn how to help your gut and body heal by addressing the nervous system dysregulation underlying your physiological symptoms. You can recover from DGBI and other PPD if you know how to give your nervous system what it needs to get regulated or re-regulated.
Five-Part Brain-Gut Connection Series
Available as Audio or Video Sessions
The Five-Part Brain-Gut Connection Series is offered either as five recorded audio presentations (no visual component) or as five recorded webinar presentations (with slide show). The Brain-Gut Connection series offers you valuable, clinically-sound information to better understand the role that your nervous system, especially your Autonomic Nervous System, plays in the generation, perpetuation, and exacerbation of digestive and other symptoms. For most people, this is the best course to start with. The five-part Brain-Gut Connection Webinar Series offers you and your loved ones a solid education in the gut-brain and mind-body connection by diving in deeper to these important topics:
- the autonomic nervous system,
- regulation and dysregulation,
- the stress response,
- traumatic stress, and
- how to start unraveling the “web of dysfunction” with a brief introduction to healing.
Note: For those interested in polyvagal theory, I suggest starting your Don’t Hate Your Guts learning experience with the Five-Part Brain-Gut Connection WEBINAR (video sessions), which is the only presentation taught through the lens of polyvagal theory.
Three-Part Healing Audio Series
The Three-Part Healing Audio Series, presented over three recorded audio presentations, offers valuable, educational listening material on Dr. Franklin’s mind-body approach to healing and recovery by working with, not against, your nervous system.
Part 1 one offers a quick yet dense overview (or helpful review if you’ve already taken the Brain-Gut Connection course) of what you need to know about your nervous system to understand how to promote healing.
Part 2 gives you the twelve principles to help get you into a healing mindset.
Part 3 walks you through the ten transformational processes involved in the psychotherapeutic healing of DGBI and other mind-body symptoms.
For most people, the Healing Audio Series will be more effective once you have listened to or watched the Brain-Gut Connection Series. If you are currently working with a psychotherapist, this educational listening program will maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of your therapy. If you are not working with a psychotherapist, this series will help you to understand how to get started on your own and perhaps inspire you to work with a psychological professional.
